Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for the course.  All students will be interviewed by an English as a Second Language teacher and will undertake a reading and writing test so that they can be placed in the most suitable class.

How do I apply?

  1. Send your completed enrolment form directly to the College.  When selecting the commencement date for studies, please allow four weeks for visa processing.
    1. Your signed enrolment form confirms that you accept the Conditions of Enrolment.  This includes your agreement to abide by all College policies for the duration of your enrolment.
    2. We will issue a response letter within two working days of the receipt of your application.
  2. (a) Student Visa Students:
    1. I.          If you receive a “Letter of Offer”, send full fees in Australian dollars.  Payment is to be made by bank transfer or bank draft.
    2. II.          Fees must be paid in full before we can send your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).  Extra costs include the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover which is approximately $40 per month.
    3. III.          When applying for a Student Visa you must take your CoE and CAAW (Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare arrangements) letter with you to the Australian Embassy or Consulate.
    4. IV.          You must notify CCIC if there is a change in your proposed course start date.

(b) Students on other visas:  Fees must be paid in full no later than 4 weeks before the course commencement date to ensure your place in the course. We recommend that insurance cover is obtained before travelling.

Will my previous experience or study count?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you course credit if relevant to your chosen course.  Students may complete the application form on request.  See page 21 for more details.

Fees

Student Visa Applicants: Full fees must be paid upfront to obtain a CoE (Certificate of Enrolment) for visa processing.

Other Visa Applicants: A deposit fee of 2 weeks tuition must be paid on booking to secure your place in the course.  The remainder of the fees must be paid in full no later than 4 weeks before the course start date.

Course Duration

Full-time 20 hours per week:  18 weeks

Part-time 10 hours per week:   36 weeks

Homestay Accommodation:

Full fees payable in advance for student visa applicants, and 2 weeks in advance for other applicants.

Full board (3 meals per day in private room)  $250 per week

Homestay Placement Fee:  $100


Student Support

You are always welcome to talk to your teacher or another staff member if there is anything that is worrying you. If you have a complaint or a grievance, it will be respected and dealt with in line with the CCIC policy and procedures.

If you wish to discuss anything about your class, your learning or your learning options and future directions please feel free to talk to one of the teachers.
